1.9.4- Zink

ZINC

Zinc is one of the most important trace elements for the human body and is key to a healthy metabolism. It is also crucial for, among other processes, cell development and healthy hair growth. This is why it is often found in hair growth products and supplements such as Frummi.

GOOD TO KNOW

Zinc is a trace element that is essential for the body. The body cannot live without it, but it also cannot produce it on its own. The amount of zinc in the human body is extremely small.

The body can’t store zinc, so it is quickly broken down. It is often referred to as a beauty or multi-mineral element, as it is involved in numerous bodily processes and has a long-lasting effect on skin, hair and nails.

It is found in more than 50 enzymes and controls all essential bodily processes. The daily requirement is 10mg for men and about 7mg for women, but increases for pregnant women, the elderly or children. Athletes also have an increased need for zinc as it stimulates recovery.

HISTORY OF ZINC

The trace element is found extensively in its natural state. The earth’s crust contains more zinc than lead or copper, although the latter two are more widely used.

Zinc is extracted industrially and since ancient times has been used as a component for alloys. At the same time, zinc is a component of vital enzymes, which is why the human body is so reliant on it.

FOODS CONTAINING ZINC

Zinc is not produced independently by the human body. It can only be supplied through food. Foods containing zinc include:

  • Lentils
  • Oats
  • Spinach
  • Nuts

Zinc derived from animal products can be processed by the body more easily. This is due to the absence of the phytic acid found in plant foods, which makes the trace element more difficult to use.

Zinc is contained in many dietary supplements, such as Frummi.

BENEFITS OF ZINC

The body needs zinc for various important processes. Without it, no cells could be formed and the hair and skin would not develop. Zinc is therefore essential for:

  • Strong nails
  • Hormone production
  • Breaking down genetic material
  • Sperm production
  • Cell growth
  • A healthy immune system
  • Healing of cuts and grazes
  • Various metabolic processes, such as fat, sugar and protein processing

Because it boosts the metabolism, zinc has an indirect influence on the health of skin and hair. It has an anti-inflammatory effect, can relieve acne and help with diabetes and allergies.

Zinc deficiency can lead to various complaints, which can manifest themselves in different ways. In addition to increased hair loss, the most common symptoms are delayed wound healing, inhibited growth, loss of appetite and decreased fertility. But zinc deficiency can be difficult to detect because levels fluctuate according to the time of day and other factors.

Overdose of zinc can lead to nausea, abdominal pain and vomiting. It can also reduce the body’s capacity to absorb copper and iron, which would impair blood formation and cause toxicity. It is impossible to overdose on zinc from food alone, but excess supplement intake could lead to zinc levels being too high.

ZINC AND FRUMMI – THE BASIS OF HEALTHY HAIR

Zinc helps promote robust hair structure, as it is involved in the production of collagen and keratin, which strengthen hair. Zinc also protects the hair follicles, helps prevent hair loss and stimulates natural growth.

It is therefore a vital ingredient in Frummi. In balanced proportion with other essential vitamins, zinc creates the right conditions for the dietary supplement to promote strong hair and stop hair loss.
